Marthinus Heinus: Partner and Director at Oceania Public Accountants

Since joining Oceania Public Accountants as a Partner and Director in July 2019, Marthinus has played an integral role in steering the firm to new heights.

A University of Stellenbosch graduate with a Bachelor of Accounting, we suspect Marthinus’ passion for badminton during his university days may well be the secret ingredient to his sharp accuracy, unwavering perseverance, and strategic acumen – qualities that greatly benefit his clients. Marthinus’ expertise goes beyond numbers – he is committed to building long-lasting partnerships with business owners and guiding them towards sustainable growth.

Marthinus brings to Oceania Public Accountants extensive corporate accounting experience. Before shifting to public practice, he made his mark as a Financial Controller in Queensland and as a Chief Financial Officer in South Africa, expertly managing the financials of up to 24 oncology units. Such depth of experience has given him an acute insight into financial management, which is now applied to enhance accounting, taxation, and compliance for SMEs.

Marthinus is a firm believer in the power of face-to-face interactions in our digital world. He sees a golden opportunity in offering hands-on, personalised advice and quarterly business reviews for our small business clients, helping them navigate their financial journey with confidence.

At the heart of Marthinus’ work ethic is a deep-seated loyalty to our clients, striving to offer them the best advice possible. He sees each client as the most important client, aiming to provide solutions that not only meet their needs but also allow them more quality time for what they love.

Beyond his professional pursuits, life’s not all work and no play for Marthinus. When he’s off the clock, you’ll find him training for his next triathlon, hitting the hiking trails, or jet-setting on his latest adventure.
