The idea for Oceania Public Accountants began in the mind of young Thinus Robbetze in South Africa. Aged just eight years old, Thinus was inspired by the example his father led in his own accounting practice, and Thinus decided – with the earnest conviction that only a child possesses – to carry on in his father’s footsteps. “I will be an accountant”, Thinus vowed to his father. And so began many years under his father’s tutelage.

With his secondary education behind him, Thinus earned a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Finance. In 2012, Thinus and his wife Cornelia began a new life in Australia, starting off on the West Coast in Perth before moving to Queensland in 2017.

At the outset of his accounting career in Australia, Thinus experienced several initial setbacks in the corporate world, where he found a disheartening focus on profit over people. Resolved to forge a different path, in 2017 Thinus established Oceania Public Accountants, underpinned by the ethos of ‘gratitude is our attitude’. The firm quickly prospered and, in 2019, welcomed Marthinus as a partner, a former client who shared Thinus’s commitment to ethical practice.

Now situated in Murrumba Downs, Queensland, and Yanchep, Western Australia, our personable team at Oceania Public Accountants serves a diverse clientele nationwide. Our vision at Oceania Public Accountants is to be a driving force in creating a stronger community. We’ll achieve this by empowering small businesses and individuals with ethical, expert accounting services, ensuring a fair and efficient Australian tax system that benefits all.
